Hearthstone is one of the longest-running and most-played digital trading card games in the world. Being part of its production, across not one, but four expansion sets, is something we don't take lightly.
From the ancient ruins of The Lost City of Un'Goro to the timeline-shattering chaos of Across the Timeways, our team contributed card illustrations spanning minions, spells, hero skins, signature cards, and colossal cards across a run that lasted from mid-2025 into early 2026.

THE PROCESS
Each Hearthstone set carries its own visual identity, Un'Goro leans into lush prehistoric warmth, while Echoes of the Infinite demands a more cosmic, reality-bending aesthetic. Our job wasn't just to draw well. It was to read the room for each set and deliver art that feels native to that world.
For every card, we worked through Blizzard's structured brief-to-approval pipeline: concept exploration, sketch sign-off, rendering, and final delivery with revision rounds built in.
Signature cards and colossal cards carry extra weight, they're showcase pieces, so those went through tighter iteration cycles to meet the elevated detail expected of those card types.
Hero skins added another layer of challenge: these aren't just characters, they're iconic Hearthstone identities reimagined. Getting the personality right mattered as much as the technical execution.

Working on Hearthstone across consecutive sets meant continuously calibrating to different creative directions without losing momentum.
We kept delivery consistent from set to set while managing the full range, from quick spell illustrations to colossal multi-panel cards that demand significantly more production time.
